Project Background:

The comprehensive surface water plan for Tehran was initially studied in 1975 by a group of Iranian and English consultants. Due to the rapid expansion of Tehran city and the problems encountered after the Golabdareh flood, it was deemed necessary to review the comprehensive surface water plan. The review of the Tehran Comprehensive Surface Water Plan was initiated by these consulting engineers in 1994 and concluded three years later.
